Packaging and Despatch

Overview

  • Packaging and Despatch set up the packing and delivery costs for standard estimates.
  • A Packaging setup holds how many items or kilograms go in a parcel, how fast parcels are packed, and the packing materials.
  • A Despatch setup holds a delivery option's cost per kilogram and fixed cost.

The setups are on the Packaging and Despatch tabs of the Setups screen. On a Quotation, you then add packaging and delivery to a standard (Printing) estimate on its Despatch tab (see Packaging and Delivery on an estimate).

Packaging and Delivery on an Estimate

Navigation

Quotation > Open a standard (Printing) estimate line > Despatch (tab)

Info

An estimate can have several packaging and delivery lines. For example, shrink wrap half the job for local delivery and box the other half for a courier to another destination. If you deliver several jobs together, you can leave packaging and delivery off the estimates and add the delivery cost as a separate item on the Quotation.

  • On the estimate's Despatch tab, select a Packaging setup and a Destination (a Despatch setup), then click Add.
  • The arrow on Add also offers Add Custom Item (a line that is not from a setup) and Add & Edit (adds the line and opens it).
  • The tab lists the packaging lines and the delivery lines.
