HTML
Overview
HTML is mostly used in BOS Professional to create pre-written emails. It is used in these places:
- Email Templates: the pre-written emails for each transaction type, with sample HTML code.
- Email Stationery: the layout (for example, a logo and a footer) around every email sent from BOS Professional.
- HTML Editor: the editor used for Email Templates, Email Stationery and report emails. From version 26.05, a WYSIWYG editor lets you edit them as they look to the recipient (see Ver 26.05).
- Custom Reports: a report can have an HTML email body.
- Notifications: the Sales and Management Notifications, and the Quotations, Sales Orders and Work Orders notifications are emailed as HTML.
- Digital Delivery Notifications: BOS Server sends the customer an HTML email when a delivery is complete.
- Service tickets: the notification emails sent when a ticket changes to a status with notifications (see Statuses in Service Manager Setup).
HTML Stored Procedures
The following Firebird Stored Procedures convert SQL results to HTML. The notification emails are built with them, and you can use them in your own SQL (for example, the SQL for BOS Server on the Management Notifications page).
| Procedure | Description |
|---|---|
| HTML_STYLE | Sets the attributes for various components: the fixed styles (heading, subheading, normal, bold and highlighted text, and a shaded background) that the other procedures use. |
| HTML_TD | Creates a table cell. Its default width depends on the type of data, for example, a company or contact, a reference, a currency amount, a date, an ID or a status. |
| HTML_TR | Creates a Table Row from its cells. A row can be a normal row, a heading row (bold, with a line below) or a summary row (bold, with a line above). |
| HTML_TABLE | Creates a table with a title, at a set width, from its rows. |
| HTML_SELECT_TD | Creates a table cell, like HTML_TD, with a background colour and an optional border. |
| HTML_SELECT_TABLE | Creates a table, like HTML_TABLE, with an optional border in a chosen colour. |
| HTML_LIST | Creates a bulleted or numbered list from a list of values. |
