Mobile App - Tracker

πŸ’‘This page explains how to use Tracker on the mobile app to record time against production tasks and downtime.

Overview

The mobile app opens in a browser on a mobile device or desktop computer. It links to the same database as BOS Professional.

If you are linked to more than one database, you select one when you sign in.

Tracker is the shop-floor time clock. On the mobile app, you can:

  • Select a Production Stage and see the jobs in progress and the tasks waiting at that stage.
  • Start, edit, change and stop timekeeping on Work Order tasks.
  • Record downtime that is not linked to a Work Order.
  • Update the number of people working on a job.
  • View a Work Order's details and workticket.
  • Share one device between several staff members, each checking in with their own PIN.
Info

No access setting restricts Tracker – every user can open it. The only Tracker settings that affect the mobile app are Timekeeping: Enabled Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) (see Timekeeping Form) and Tracker Login (PIN) (see Share Device Mode). Both are set per user by an administrator on the desktop system, never in the mobile app.

Share Device Mode

Share Device Mode lets different staff members check in and out of Tracker on one shared device with a PIN. Jobs and timekeeping are then recorded for whoever is at the device – without signing out of the mobile app.

The first time you open Tracker in a session, the Share Device screen appears before the Tracker list, and stays until you answer it. It reads "This device may be shared with other staff. Check in with your PIN, or continue with the account you're already signed in with."

Buttons Explained

Button Description
Check in with PIN
  • Opens the Enter your PIN screen so that a staff member can check in with their own Tracker PIN.
  • Every Tracker screen (Active Jobs, Tasks and the Timekeeping form) is then scoped to that staff member.
  • The title in the top bar changes to Tracker - followed by their name.
Use my signed-in accountSkips PIN check-in. Tracker works as normal with the account you are signed in to the mobile app with.

Fields Explained

The Enter your PIN screen reads "Enter your Tracker PIN to check in on this device." and contains the following:

Field Description

  • Clear and Submit are disabled until you enter a digit, and the whole pad is disabled while the PIN is being checked.

Filters Explained

Filter Description

  • Select the Production Stage to work at.
  • Only stages that currently have jobs or tasks are listed, so an empty stage never appears.
  • When Tracker first opens, the staff member's default stage is selected if it has work waiting.
SearchEnter any text shown on a row (for example, the Work Order number, item, dates or quantities) to filter the list as you type.

Fields Explained

The list is divided into two groups as follows:

Group Description
Active Jobs
  • Lists the jobs and downtime that are currently being timed.
  • Each job shows WO, the Work Order number, workticket and customer (in red if an NCR is attached to the job), a live Running timer (hours, minutes and seconds since the job was started), the reference, the items (if any), the Due date (in red if overdue), the Est hours, Qty Done and Spoiled (only if either is not zero), a coloured status tag and a team tag (a group icon with the number of people working on the job).
  • Downtime rows show Downtime - followed by the workstation, the Running timer and a grey Downtime tag, with no team tag.
Tasks
  • Lists the Work Order tasks waiting at the selected stage.
  • Each task shows WO, the Work Order number and customer, the reference, the items (if any), the Due date, the Est hours, Qty Done and Spoiled (only if either is not zero) and a coloured status tag. Tasks have no timer and no team tag.
  • A task that someone else has already started at the same stage appears only under Active Jobs, not again under Tasks.

If the stage supports only one tracking type, the popup is skipped and that type is used. If the stage has no tracking types set up, Run is used.
