Tracker - Setup Tutorials

Overview

  • Job tracking is done using a separate lightweight executable (Tracker.exe), which is by default disconnected from the database.
  • When a user logs in, a connection is made and when a user logs out, the database is once again disconnected. This module accepts touchscreen input (minimum resolution 1024x768px) and input from barcode scanners.

Tracking jobs as a Team is supported. After starting the clock, you can increase or decrease the Team size as required by clicking the selected Job to open the Context Menu.

During lunch or tea breaks, you can Pause all the Active Users and Teams and then Resume tracking at the end of the break.

  • For Barcode Scanning, we recommend the bcCode39 barcode type, as it is the easiest to use (check digit not required) and the easiest for scanners to recognise.
  • Up to 43 alphanumeric characters can be added to this Barcode Type, but for tracking purposes, you only add numeric characters to the barcode – PIN No., WO No. or Service ID. More at https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_39.

How to Set the Window Size of the Tracker App Display

Info

The Tracker App defaults to maximised. You can change the display, but the setting is not saved.

Maximised is recommended because the text may be truncated with other size options.

  1. Open the Tracker App.
  2. Select a Database if you are linked to more than one database.
  3. Click Tracker (button).
  4. Without logging in, click the Settings icon in the bottom right-hand corner > select Window and then one of these sizes:
    • 800 x 600: This setting is the smallest supported layout. It opens in the corner of a screen on most PCs.
    • 1024 x 768: This setting is a landscape layout that fits most tablets or PC monitors.
    • 1280 x 720: This setting is a landscape layout that is suitable for most tablets or PC monitors.
    • 768 x 1024: This setting is a portrait layout that fits most tablets or PC monitors.
    • 720 x 1280: This setting is a portrait layout, can be used on tablets. Not ideal for PCs because parts of the display can be cut off.
    • Maximized: This setting enlarges the display to fill the entire screen.
    • Show Border: This setting enables a top border so that the window can be moved. Moving the window when maximised changes the display to 800 x 600.
